What Lubbock needs to know about the virus that causes severe diarrhea

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texans, you may want to start washing your fresh and raw fruits and vegetables.

Health officials are keeping an eye on the cyclosporiasis virus which is caused by a little parasite that makes it way onto produce. Currently, there are no active cases in Lubbock, however, residents are advised to stay safe.

Some fruits and veggies that can have the parasite on them are cilantro, basil and basically any leafy veggies. As well as blackberries and raspberries.
