HONOLULU (Island News) — The H-1 Freeway will be closed overnight on Saturday between the Middle Street merge and the Likelike Highway off-ramp for construction work to widen this section of the freeway.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) said demolition will begin on the temporary pedestrian bridge along with reconstruction of the Gulick Avenue overpass. The temporary pedestrian bridge was partially launched on Monday, July 6, over the eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway ahead of the full installation.
From 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, to 8 a.m. the next day, The project will fully close the H-1 Freeway between the Middle Street merge and the Likelike Highway off-ramp (Exit 20A) from 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, to 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 12.
