AMSTERDAM, NY (WRGB) — A Schenectady man is in custody, accused of possessing quantities of marijuana and operating an illegal dispensary in Amsterdam.
On July 8th 2026, the Montgomery County Regional SWAT Team conducted a search warrant at 6 Hempton Street in the City of Amsterdam. The warrant, signed by the Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman of Amsterdam City Court, was obtained following an investigation into the illegal sale of untaxed marijuana products. It was determined the Hempton Street location was operating as an illegal dispensary. Jonathan Dixon, 56, was located in the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Following a search of the residence, approximately 14 pounds of loose marijuana, 25 pounds of marijuana concentrate, 2 ounces of marijuana gummies, $2,500 of US currency, and various other items used for packaging and distributing marijuana were seized.
