Charities vow to carry on after final PGA event at Firestone Country Club

AKRON, Ohio — A long-running Akron golf tradition is coming to a close this weekend as Firestone Country Club hosts its final Kaulig Companies Championship, but local charities say the tournament’s legacy of giving will continue.

For over 70 years, Firestone Country Club has been a fixture on professional golf’s calendar, bringing some of the game’s biggest names to northeast Ohio. Along the way, PGA Tour events have also generated millions of dollars for charitable organizations across the region.
