Ground stop lifted, but long flight delays reported at Atlanta airport

Thursday’s ground stop at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been lifted, but the airport is still experiencing serious delays, officials say.

The Federal Aviation Administration has ended the ground stop, which was set to expire at 5 p.m., early. The agency noted that departures from the Atlanta airport are delayed by an average of 90 minutes and increasing due to the ongoing storms.

As of 4:50 p.m., Flight Aware reports that 284 flights departing from Hartsfield-Jackson and 255 flights arriving at the airport have been delayed…
