FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Jurors returned a verdict for a 27-year-old Fort Wayne man charged in a deadly 2017 shooting.
Carlos Ellis was one of two men charged in 2025 in 36-year-old Nicholas Hennan’s death. Hennan was found dead in a car that crashed into a tree on Aug. 3, 2017.
Charges were dismissed without prejudice against the other man charged in the case, meaning they could be refiled at a later date. Court records for the dismissal show that evidence once available to the prosecution was no longer available, and they could no longer prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt…
