Daily chances for showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast as we wrap up the workweek, with higher rain chances expected this weekend.
As we approach lunchtime, a few isolated showers are out and about across the Tennessee Valley. Through the rest of the afternoon, additional hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms will be possible, with highs climbing to around 90 degrees.
On Friday, a more organized round of showers and thunderstorms is expected, with a few storms potentially becoming strong. Heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds will be the primary concerns. The SPC has placed areas north of the Tennessee River under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather.
