CICERO, New York (WWNY) – A commercial truck and trailer were impounded on Interstate 81 Wednesday after a New York State Police inspection uncovered 26 violations, including defective brakes and falsified driver logs, troopers said.
Members of the Troop D Traffic Incident Management Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit stopped a 2023 Dodge pickup towing a 2024 Buckeye flatbed trailer around 3:45 p.m. on July 8 in the town of Cicero after troopers observed the vehicle was not displaying required U.S. Department of Transportation identification markings.
What troopers found
The driver, Dmitrii Timofeev, 39, of Brooklyn, told troopers he had picked up a vehicle from an auction and was transporting it to a customer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Troopers determined the commercial truck was unregistered and uninsured. The trailer displayed a temporary Ohio registration that had expired in 2025. Timofeev was also found to be operating the vehicle in violation of restrictions on his New York driver’s license…
