PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two more arrests were made after a Palm Beach County man told investigators he was shot in the leg and run over by a fleeing SUV after trying to stop friends from stealing his firearms.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Victor Manuel Rivero III, 16 at the time of the alleged offense, served as the getaway driver while Easton Meza, 15 at the time of the alleged offense, allegedly stole two rifles from the victim’s home. Both teens face charges of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, armed burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft.
The charges are connected to the same April incident that previously resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Calvin Waldon, who authorities allege shot the victim during the struggle before the group fled the scene.
According to probable cause affidavits, the victim invited Meza and another acquaintance to his home after speaking with them on a FaceTime call early April 24.
