Eagles slash Lady Mustangs’ streak

At home last Monday, the Ankeny Christian Lady Eagles took an early lead over the Murray Lady Mustangs that, despite best efforts to cut down, they were unable to overcome for a 14-7 loss.

The visitors started the first inning with a strikeout followed by a ground out before a series of singles put runners on base. Lexxi Moore scored for the first point of the night. Maleah Porter was able to score on a passed ball on the next batter with Maliya Berry pitching for Murray.

Up to bat, Leah Frederick walked to first and Paisley VanWinkle and Kiersten Klein were out on a ground out and pop out, respectively, though Frederick was able to advance to second. A hit on the pitch for Karina Romero moved her to first before Berry ground out to end the first…
