TWO WALLER COUNTY RESIDENTS ARRESTED ON THEFT OF LIVESTOCK CHARGES

A multi-county investigation by Special Rangers from the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association has led to two Waller County residents being arrested.

45-year-old Janay Monique Smith of Pattison was arrested by the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, while her alleged accomplice, 59-year-old Douglas James Smith, also of Pattison, was taken into custody by the Lake Jackson Police Department with the assistance of the Waller County Sheriff’s Office.

The Smiths are accused of fraudulently purchasing more than $30,000 in livestock from eight auction markets across Central and Southeast Texas…
