MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – The 2026 Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame Class was officially inducted on Wednesday, featuring the names of Ryan Braun, Mark Murphy, and more.
Each year, the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held as an annual celebration honoring some of the Badger State’s most accomplished athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors whose excellence, leadership, and dedication have left their mark on Wisconsin sports on and off the field.
Badgers unveil new uniform for game versus Notre Dame at Lambeau Field
During the induction ceremony at the Marcus Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee, this year’s Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame class included Ryan Braun, Mark Murphy, Bob Gansler, and John Boie.
Ryan Braun:
Braun played all 14 years of his MLB career with the Milwaukee Brewers after being drafted 5th overall in the 2005 draft. Throughout his career, Braun earned several awards, including the National League’s Rookie of the Year in 2007, the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 2011, six All-Star nominations, and five Silver Slugger awards.
Mark Murphy:
Murphy led the Packers organization as President and CEO for 17 years from 2005 to 2025, overseeing almost two decades’ worth of success on and off the football field. During his time leading the organization, Murphy saw the Packers bring the Lombardi back to Green Bay following Super Bowl XLV; he also launched major initiatives such as the Titletown District and played a crucial part in bringing the NFL Draft to Green Bay.
Bob Gansler:
Gansler is a former soccer player and coach. He made 25 appearances with Team USA as a player and even captained the 1964 and 1968 Olympic qualifying teams, as well as the 1967 Pan American team. As a coach, Gansler led the United States U19 team from 1979 to 1982, the Milwaukee Panthers from 1984 to 1988, the United States U20 team from 1987 to 1989, and was the coach of the US Men’s National Team from 1989 to 1991. After coaching Team USA, he also spent some time coaching the Milwaukee Rampage, leading them to the A-League title in 1997.
John Boie:
Boie is a wheelchair basketball player for the United States Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team. Born in Janesville, he became a two-time Paralympic gold medalist, helping lead Team USA to gold in the 2020 and 2024 Paralympic Games…
