1. Milwaukee mayor not on board with I-794 teardown, favors renovating existing structure
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said he will not recommend tearing down I-794 in downtown Milwaukee to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Johnson had previously indicated support for the teardown option, but said after seeing the results of several traffic studies, he feels a teardown could lead to significant traffic issues, especially during the busy summer season.
