A tornado took out over 200 plants and trees at New Orleans’ Longue Vue House and Gardens

After Tropical Storm Arthur brought 14 tornadoes to south Louisiana and Mississippi last month, one of New Orleans’ National Historic Landmarks was hit hard and is still picking up the pieces.

Early on June 18, a tornado raked across Longue Vue House and Gardens, which sits on the edge of the Lakewood neighborhood near Old Metairie.

It caused damage to over 175 cubic yards of the property, including the Wild Garden, Canal Garden, Overlook, East Lawn, Pine Drive and Oak Allée…
