ROCKFORD — A new downtown wine bar that will have weekly jazz nights and showcases of local musical talent opens Thursday night in downtown.
Palace Wine Bar, 202 N. Main St., has been in the works since owners Mark Podemski and Lucretia Ristin purchased the former Palace Shoe Repair and adjacent Downtown Shoes & Boutique more than two years ago. Its grand opening starts at 5 p.m. tonight.
The space has now been renovated into what the owners hope will become a destination for wines from around the world and events including special tastings, live music and poetry nights…
