Tulsa man arrested for attempting to sell stolen item on Facebook Marketplace

Tulsa County deputies arrested 55-year-old Timothy Thompson during a sting operation after investigators said he tried to sell a specialized piece of equipment that had been reported stolen.

The investigation began after the victim discovered the stolen equipment was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Deputies say the item, a DigiTrak F1 underground locating device used to locate fiber-optic cables, is valued at approximately $9,000.
