On July 8, the Boulder County Coroner’s Office identified the man who was found dead on Longs Peak on July 5 as 41-year-old Jeffrey Carlin.
According to prior reporting, Carlin was on Kiener’s Route when he was found. Details related to his cause of death have not been released.
While most climb 14,259-foot Longs Peak via the more popular Class 3 Keyhole Route, Kiener’s Route is a 5.4/5.5-rated route that travels up the mountain’s east face, generally linking Lamb’s Slide to Broadway Ledge to Upper Kiener’s.
