AWENDAW, S.C. (WCBD) – As the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, the Avian Conservation Center opened a fitting new building.
A 120-foot enclosure is dedicated to an animal that symbolizes freedom. It is proportionate and modernized for eagles.
“This is our new eagle flight enclosure, which is a component of our medical facility here at the center,” Stephen Schabel, president and CEO of the Avian Conservation Center, said. “It’s kind of the last stage before release for birds, it’s to recondition them to rebuild muscle that they may have lost while in treatment.”…
