Ascension St. Vincent Evansville celebrates 1,000th TAVR procedure milestone

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Ascension St. Vincent Evansville has reached a major milestone in cardiovascular care, successfully performing its 1,000th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure.

The achievement marks a significant moment for the hospital’s heart program, which launched in late 2018 and has grown to become the fastest-growing TAVR program in the Tri-State region.

TAVR is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat severe aortic stenosis, a condition in which the heart’s aortic valve narrows, restricting blood flow and potentially leading to heart failure if left untreated.
