Chase Bank in Grand Rapids holds workshop for scam warning signs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Financial scams are becoming more sophisticated and more people are falling victim to them. The FBI reports that last year alone, Michiganders over the age of 60 lost around $170 million dollars to scams.

From fake texts, to phone calls, to emails from institutions that look legitimate, scammers are finding new ways to steal people’s money. In response, Chase Bank in Grand Rapids held a scam protection workshop teaching people what to look out for and what to do if they are targeted.
