CLOVIS, Calif. (KGPE) – A one-of-a-kind hiring program in the Central Valley is helping military veterans transition into civilian careers, and organizers say its success is drawing attention from communities across the country.
The Strategic Hiring Event, organized by the Central Valley Veterans Employment Committee, takes a different approach than a traditional job fair. Instead of walking booth to booth with resumes in hand, veterans are coached in advance, prepare interactive resumes, and give professional presentations to hiring managers before interviewing on the spot.
