Circle C residents raise traffic, safety concerns over proposed rezoning

AUSTIN, Texas ( KXAN) – A proposed rezoning in Southwest Austin is drawing opposition from some Circle C residents who say a planned apartment development could worsen traffic and create safety concerns near Kiker Elementary School.

The proposal would rezone Tract 110, a more than 60-acre property, to allow up to 1,000 multifamily apartment units.

Residents who spoke with KXAN said they believe the project could place additional strain on roads they say are already congested, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up hours.

“If you come back here during the school morning, you’ll already see cars backed up to this intersection trying to get to La Crosse,” Circle C resident Alicia Keswani said…
