Large crane collapses into Cooper River: U.S. Coast Guard

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A large crane has collapsed into the Cooper River near Pier G on Friday, July 10, 2026, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Authorities say an emergency safety zone has been established in the Cooper River and will encompass all waters within a 300-yard radius of the pier.
