POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A suspected kidnapper was found over 100 miles away from where the incident began on Friday, with the bruised and beaten victim in the backseat of his truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said a Flock license plate reader detected the suspect’s Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling westbound on I-4 in Polk County that morning. Authorities caught up with the truck on State Road 570 in Lakeland and initiated a traffic stop.

Video showed a trooper getting out of his patrol car and pointing a gun at the driver as the trooper shouted, “Show me your hands.” The driver, identified as Jeremy Matthew Mason, 29, was then placed in handcuffs.
Troopers said they found the victim in the backseat of Mason’s pickup truck. She had blood around her mouth, as well as bruises on her arm and shoulder, according to an arrest report. Troopers said the victim appeared emotional and told them she believed Mason was going to kill her…
