LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Artists from across the country are competing at ScrapFest in Old Town Lansing this weekend, transforming discarded metal into works of art during the festival’s 16th year.
How the competition works
Scrap metal for the event comes from Friedland Industries in Lansing.
Each artist gets one hour to collect as much metal as their weight class allows.
Weight classes range from a 5-gallon bucket for extra-small works to 500 pounds of metal for the largest pieces.
