Man sentenced in drive-by shooting, police chase in East Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A Florida man was sentenced Friday to four years in state prison for his role in a 2023 drive-by shooting and police chase in East Providence.

Joshua Pavao pleaded no contest to three felony charges, including drive-by shooting, carrying a pistol without a license, and leaving the scene of a crash that caused injury. Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
