(FOX40.COM) — A defendant was sentenced to 40 years to life for the 2025 murder of a man in Del Paso Heights, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
On Nov. 21, 2025, Guadalupe Valencia was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim, Steve Guy, at the Stop-N-Save Mart in Del Paso Heights. After the victim had left the store, Valencia remained in the store and called his wife to bring him a gun, the district attorney’s office stated.
According to the district attorney’s office, Valencia then got in his car and began to follow Guy, challenging him to a gunfight. When Guy produced his own firearm, Valencia began opening fire, shooting the victim in the back…
