CARMICHAEL, Calif. — Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded to two residential structure fires within 20 minutes of each other Friday afternoon.
The first fire was reported at 4:51 p.m. at a four-unit residential building in the 5300 block of Winfield Way in Carmichael. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from one unit and deployed multiple hose lines while conducting primary searches of all units to ensure no one was still inside.
The fire spread into the attic, affecting three of the four units before crews extinguished it. One adult man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after suffering smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported…
