TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo Police officer was taken to the hospital to get checked out after a police pursuit landed his cruiser in a hole in a road Friday morning. The pursuit involved people who were part of a separate police chase less than two weeks earlier.
Reports from Toledo Police said an officer identified a stolen vehicle around 9 a.m. on July 10. He tried to stop the driver, identified as George Campbell III, 59, of Toledo, who was wanted on felony warrants. Campbell didn’t stop and led the officer on a chase, the report said.
Friday’s chase continued south on Asbury, where the water department had removed a portion of the road, police said. Campbell was able to make it through the area, but the front of the officer’s vehicle got stuck on the hole despite his attempts to slow down…
