TOLEDO, Ohio — A pursuit with a suspect vehicle led to a Toledo police vehicle crashing into a hole in the roadway Friday morning, police said in a report.
Officers first identified vehicle at the intersection of Laskey and Tremainsville around 9 a.m. According to police, the occupants of the vehicle had felony warrants out of Sylvania Township, and so police attempted to stop the vehicle. However, police said the driver refused to stop and a pursuit began. As the pursuit began, the vehicle’s passenger exited the vehicle.
Police followed the vehicle south on Asbury, where TPD said the city water department had removed a portion of the roadway. The suspect navigated the area, but while police said an officer attempted to slow down in the area, the “front of his vehicle struck the far (sic) side of the hole” and became inoperable. At the time of the crash, the officer driving struck his head. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but has no serious injuries, police said…
