Palm Beach board approves restoration of neglected oceanside home

An oceanside house in Palm Beach’s Estate Section that drew attention after a stalled renovation left it boarded up with an untended lawn has been approved for a major restoration and expansion by the town’s landmarks board.

During its most recent meeting at Town Hall, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to approve a certificate of appropriateness, a landmark adjustment for setback relief and a historic-preservation tax exemption for the two-story house at 480 S. Ocean Blvd. The home, designed by noted Palm Beach architect Marion Sims Wyeth, was landmarked by the town in 2025.
