Longmont has reached a tentative $4.5 million agreement to buy the YMCA of Northern Colorado property on Lashley Street and begin converting it into the city’s second public recreation center.
The proposed acquisition is scheduled to go before the Longmont City Council on Tuesday, July 14. If approved, the city would evaluate the building for expanded aquatics, fitness, wellness, recreation and community programming while working with the YMCA to explore how childcare services can continue during the transition.
