Murder charge dropped after man pleads guilty to accessory in homicide

The murder charge against one of the three people arrested in the death of a man found in a vehicle near an east Fort Collins shopping center in March has been dismissed.

Fort Collins police responded to the 2600 block of Illinois Drive — which is near Drake and Timberline roads and includes a shopping center with a King Soopers — just before 10:15 a.m. March 8 where police said officers found a deceased man in a parked vehicle.

The man was identified as 66-year-old Timothy Van Dyke of Fort Collins, and the coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide by multiple stab wounds…
