ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria residents 60 and older can apply now for benefits that cover free fruits and vegetables at local farmers markets, ahead of a series of pop-up markets the city is bringing to residential communities in August.
The city’s Division of Aging and Adult Services is accepting applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, which provides benefits seniors can use to buy fresh produce. To qualify, applicants must be 60 or older, meet income guidelines, and be Alexandria residents.
