Catalytic converter stolen

A catalytic converter was stolen June 1 from a rented vehicle in the 9500 block of West 55th Street. The driver discovered it was missing when he heard unusual engine noise upon starting the car.

Fired employee refuses to leave

A fired employee refused to leave HCI Transportation Technologies, 7801 W. 47th St., on June 11. He demanded the company provide him a plane or bus ticket home.

The company had booked a hotel room for him and offered to arrange transportation. An Uber driver took him to the hotel.

Fleeing and eluding police

An officer on patrol saw a vehicle turn onto an exit ramp heading the wrong direction on northbound First Avenue on June 11. The driver accelerated to a high rate of speed and committed multiple traffic violations.

The vehicle was apprehended at a dead-end road in Countryside. The driver was arrested and charged with several felonies. Police did not release the driver’s name or the charges.

Vehicle stolen on Joliet Road

The owner of a vehicle reported it missing early June 14, saying he last saw it the night of June 13 in the 8700 block of Joliet Road.. Officers found the vehicle’s GPS unit and cameras removed and left on the ground.

Romantic interlude leads to arrests

An officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked next to a business in the 4700 block of Vernon Avenue on June 14. Investigation revealed two people engaged in intimate activities. Each was charged with indecent exposure.

Former employee told to leave

A former employee at Assemblers Inc., 8601 W. 47th St., who had been fired for violent behavior was on the property June 16. He was advised to leave and complied without incident.

Public urination leads to charge

A woman was cited for public urination June 17 after relieving herself in the street at 49th Street and Riverside Avenue. She told police she urgently needed to urinate and was advised to use a bathroom in the future.

Property stolen from truck

A truck driver reported on June 18 that personal property was stolen from a truck in the 7800 block of West 47th Street. He had been fired from his job, and another driver was using the truck. When he arrived to retrieve his belongings, he found some items missing. No further updates are available.

Fleeing and eluding

An officer pursued a speeding vehicle on June 20 but ended the pursuit at 44th Street and Prescott Avenue. Riverside police later reported the vehicle had crashed…
