‘It’s common decency’: Greenville County deputy explains ‘Move Over’ law after I-85 crash

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A Greenville County deputy is sharing his experience and the importance of South Carolina’s “Move Over” law after being hit by a vehicle on I-85 early July 3.

In a recent episode of the department’s Roll Call podcast, Deputy Theo King described how his car’s lights were flashing while he was protecting a tow operator from oncoming traffic around 3:15 a.m. when he was rear-ended by another vehicle.

“I’m sitting there in the [patrol] car just hanging out, and something told me, ‘Hey, you should look up,’” Deputy King shared. “I looked up, and in not even half a second, I saw headlights in my rear view. I felt the hit and then the next thing I knew, I was looking at the side of the tow truck.”…
