Driver killed in Harlan County crash, passenger airlifted to UT Medical Center

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WATE) — One person died following a single-vehicle crash in Harlan County, Kentucky on Saturday.

Kentucky State Police are investigating that crash occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on U.S. 119 near Metcalf Lane. Troopers responded to the scene and discovered two occupants inside the vehicle, a father and his young son.

The driver was transported to Harlan ARH Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment.
