ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A frontal boundary approaching the area will keep rain and clouds around over the next couple of days. Tonight, low clouds will likely settle in with patchy fog around as showers linger. Lows will be in the 60s. Sunday will have mostly cloudy skies with temperatures not as warm. Highs will be in the 70s.
Scattered showers and a few storms will be possible Sunday as the front slides southward. On and off again showers will remain Sunday night into Monday before clearing out by Tuesday.
Decent rain totals are possible with the highest amounts likely south of US-460 around 1-2″. Locally higher totals are possible with any storm that may lead to isolated flooding concerns.
With high pressure filling back in briefly mid-week, expect more sunshine as temperatures begin to heat up once more. Highs will return to the 90s by Wednesday. We look mainly dry until Friday when storms are possible again with another front.
