ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Boulder Coffee on Alexander Street is getting ready to hold a variety show on Saturday night as a fundraiser for Lux Lounge, which remains closed nearly two weeks after a fire.
The fire broke out in the floor above the dive bar on South Avenue. No one was hurt, but smoke and water damaged the first floor that houses the bar. Keith Rose, the owner of Boulder Coffee, said it’s sad any time a fire damages a business, especially a fellow business in the South Wedge neighborhood.
“It makes you immediately think it could happen to you, especially because we have an upstairs above us. We have multiple floors,” he said. “…Lux is our neighbor, quite literally. We have one of their staff members that lives in an apartment above us. It’s just scary to think about, but glad everyone was safe.”…
