Central New York Forward; Hochul’s transportation project with Micron coming

CLAY, N.Y. — Governor Kathy Hochul announced a new project called Central New York Forward. This will address future transportation needs in Onondaga County for expected growth, specifically with Micron coming. These changes will mostly affect the Town of Clay and the Town of Cicero.

These are the changes that are expected to be made in this proposed project:

  • State Route 31 between South Bay Road in the Town of Cicero and Oswego Road (County Route 57) in the Town of Clay
  • U.S. Route 11 between Factory Street and Mud Mill Road in the Town of Cicero
  • Interstate 81 between the I-481 interchange and the Bartell Road interchange in the Town of Cicero
  • State Route 481 between the U.S. Route 11 interchange in the Town of Cicero and State Route 31 interchange in the Town of Clay

The Town of Clay will also open a project community outreach office on July 14. This is to receive public opinion on this project. It will be located at 4483 State Route 31. The office will be open on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m…
