Another round of showers, thunderstorms expected in Charlotte region

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop yet again during the afternoon and evening hours.

Some storms will be strong, with damaging winds, frequent lightning and localized flooding possible.

Before any rain comes to town, highs will top out in the upper 80s before cooling off once the rain arrives.

Based on the most recent model data, the worst of the weather may cross the Charlotte metro area (from west to east) between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. today.

As a cold front creeps across the Charlotte region Monday, storm coverage will remain elevated and temperatures will come down. After the upper 80s today, temps will bottom out in the upper 70s on Monday, about a dozen degrees below normal for mid-July…
