I hear it all the time. “It’s just so annoying getting to the West Side.”
That might be true if you are unfamiliar with Queen City Avenue, Westwood Northern Boulevard, Harrison Avenue, Delhi Pike, River Road, and a major interstate running through the heart of my community. But what people fail to realize is that we also have buses that can bring you over here, too.
However, unlike the other side of town, our bus routes are not as robust, frequent, or busy. This can be attributed to the fact that Harrison Avenue’s #21 bus and Glenway Avenue’s #33 bus, two of Metro’s 10 highest ridership routes, both terminate at the Western Hills Shopping Plaza, leaving half of the West Side’s busiest business and residential corridors without proper Metro service…
