Wichita’s aviation history celebrated in two-day downtown event

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita’s rich aviation history was celebrated at the downtown Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum this weekend.

The free two-day ‘Aviation Weekend’ event featured a new documentary produced by the museum, titled “Wichita: The Air Capital – The Early Years.”

Aside from watching the documentary, those who attended the event could also hear lectures on the Stearman Aircraft centennial and participate in a book signing of “The Barnstormer and The Lady,” published by Jennifer Pitt, the granddaughter of the founders of Beech Aircraft…
