Jerusalem Township flood recovery: Community rallies as cleanup begins

Jerusalem Township, Ohio (WTVG) – Cleanup is underway in Jerusalem Township following historic rainfall that flooded roads, homes, and farm fields. As water recedes, officials and community members are working to help residents recover.

Storms Sunday and Monday dropped 10 to 12 inches of rain on Jerusalem Township. Lucas County Engineer Mike Pneiewski described the scale of the event and its impact on local infrastructure.

“It was a 1 in 3000 year event,” Pneiewski said. “Obviously the infrastructure here is not built to take that kind of water.”…
