A rally was held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Rodney Square in Wilmington, as community members maintain pressure on the Wilmington Police Department in the wake of the shooting death of Kadir Skinner on June 24th.
Attorneys for Skinner’s family over the weekend also released video from the scene at 24th and Jessup streets in the immediate aftermath of the officer involved shooting.
The video shows an individual lying on the ground, identified as Skinner, being handcuffed by Wilmington Police as multiple bystanders record the incident on their phones while calling for police to get Skinner medical attention.
“The more we learn about this situation, the worse it gets,” said attorney Harry Daniels. “Kadir Sinner was dying before their eyes and they treated him like some kind of thug. It’s time for the City of Wilmington and Wilmington Police Department to step up with accountability and transparency and release the body camera video.”…
