West Allis homicide, man sentenced to prison for 2023 shooting

MILWAUKEE The second of two men charged in connection to a 2023 West Allis homicide has been sentenced to prison.

Alexzander Schlieve, 27, was charged with the following in connection to the 2023 fatal shooting:

  • Second-degree reckless homicide, use of a dangerous weapon
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Arson of property other than building, as party to a crime

Schlieve pleaded guilty to all the charges in February. On July 10, a judge sentenced Schlieve to 26 ½ years in prison and 17 years of extended supervision – the sentences for all counts run consecutively.

Another person, Dawson Kurer, was also charged with arson of property other than a building, as party to a crime, in connection to the homicide. He pleaded no contest to the charge in 2025 and was sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison and two years of extended supervision.
