WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Following a massive fish kill in west Wichita on Friday, the neighborhood HOA is speaking out on what they’re doing to cleanup the mess.
On Sunday, thousands of dead fish are still floating in a pond in the Chadsworth neighborhood near 21st and Maize. The fish are decaying, with maggots feeding on them. The area now has an odor of rotting fish, which people nearby say is leaking into their homes.
“The smell obviously, is sad for all of us that live here. You can smell it. Your air conditioner, you’re getting the smell in your house, the hazards of that. I don’t know what it’s doing to the water and all the wildlife,” said Lisa Wentworth, who lives in the neighborhood…
