‘The pain is really getting to him’: Watch never-before-seen video played at ex-Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright’s sentencing

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A 14-minute video played by Chuck Wright’s attorneys at his federal sentencing — and now being shown publicly for the first time — features character references from the family of a fallen deputy, a longtime friend and a current sheriff’s office chaplain.

The judge still imposed the maximum sentence of 41 months for Wright’s schemes, including a no-work scheme and a scheme to steal money from a fund meant to help deputies.

Mark Link, the father-in-law of Deputy Austin Aldridge, who was killed in the line of duty in 2022, appeared in the video.

“I’m very thankful for the way he treated our family and checking on my daughter and myself and my family,” Link said. “Over the past couple of years, even after the incidents, even during the incidents, he made sure that all the donations and what have you was being delivered to my daughter in a timely fashion.”…
