Salem Fair gives back to local charities

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) – The Salem Fair may be over for the year, but not without giving back. Fair leaders say donations collected during this year’s event are now being distributed to local charities in the area.

Mrs. Dorsey’s Clothes Closet, the Salem-Roanoke County Food Pantry, and the Rescue Mission received monetary and physical donations, and they say they couldn’t be more grateful.

“We see increasing needs. Our ministries are continuing to expand to meet those needs. So, the sock donations would be very important to us, as well as financial donations. Whenever there’s a need for assistance, the community rallies around and supports those in need,” said Garry Lautenschlager, administrator with Salem Area Ecumenical Ministries…
