It’s so hot today we’ll be near record heat in Boston. Wind direction will play a big part in whether we break the record.
If our winds stay westerly, a hot wind, for long enough that may do the trick to get us to about 100 degrees. That’ll be good enough to tie a record that goes back 31 years.
Aside from the heat, the humidity has bumped in, giving us a tropical feel. Combine the heat and the humidity and you get the heat index. Many spots, including Boston, will see heat indices push past 100 degrees. That’s dangerous heat that can stress out your body in short order.
